Made in just three months by Benedetta Tagliabue, Barcelona shop faithfully reflects the philosophy of the brand, with its Mediterranean style but at the same time very urban. Hands up who has not worn a pair of espadrillas on the beach or in the city!
By now, Castañer is not only the mark of that flat shoe, unisex, with the rope sole that Woe to get wet*! Today, the Spanish company produces shoes walking on all major catwalks around the world. Shoes that, in fact, are not even more so cheap… but, yes, so beautiful!
|* Have you ever been caught by the rain with a pair of espadrillas? No? Well, the sole became a sort of wooden raft!|
The store is very simple, just like the shoes that it houses. The furnishings are clear and linear, the display system is made of a simple tube with white MDF shelves. The parquet is clear and interrupted by hexagonal orange tiles, to recall the colors of the brand but also the historical references of the city. The only decorative elements are, in addition to the seating furniture which is also orange and white, some images of Hollywood stars who wear espadrilles and a showcase exibiting materials used in the making of these shoes.
| In short, the typical example of how a seemingly ordinary interior design is able to bring out what it contains. Or, a typical example of how the humility of an architect can actually afford to reach the goal.
